The back acres of the Kuerner Farm in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania right after the hay was cut. The long lines of drying hay are called windrows. We had a very wet spring, so this hay will be lying there for at least a week before being baled.
Andrew Wyeth painted this farm hundreds - thousands? - of times. This scene is very similar to another painting in the shop called "Too Late Now". I decided to leave out the telephone poles in this one.
The painting is eleven inches wide by fourteen inches tall. It is an oil on a board. It was painted on-site, en plein air.
